About Me

Hi there, thanks for checking out my website! My name is Johnny Po and I live to eat, sleep, and code. I also enjoy photography as well as with music. The photo you see above of the milky way and the night sky was taken by me at the Vista House Viewpoint located in Oregon.

I currently work as a Software Development Engineer at Intel Corporation. I moved to Oregon when I was six years old, and have not left since. In my free time, I always find myself catching up with and learning about the latest and greatest in the tech industry. I enjoy working on side projects that include web and mobile applications with a focus on Android.

  • Scheduled and facilitated all sprint related ceremonies including daily standups, planning, and retrospectives to ensure team alignment and overall productivity
  • Collaborated with the product manager to effectively allocate work for the engineering team during each sprint
  • Maintained overall test coverage above 90% for UI and API codebases in both production and development environments
  • Assisted in migration of customer accounting data from an outdated database into a modern PostgreSQL system
  • Established foundational UI and API components for multiple new features, supporting ongoing product improvements

Student Android Developer

Oregon State University
  • Food Safety Record Readiness (FSRR) is a cross platform application to streamline the recalling process for small scale food growers and producers across the Pacific Northwest. This will help our clients with file organization as well as save paper.
  • Developed a native Android application that securely connects to a server hosted with the Firebase platform
  • Creating a web implementation of the application to view and edit the files and documents uploaded from the mobile device
  • Implemented the Firebase platform for the server database to handle all of authenticated user’s files

Student Web Developer

OSU Division of Student Affairs
  • Redesigned experience.oregonstate.edu homepage to look more modern and minimal and rebuilt the internal site structure for 2017 relaunch
  • Combined HTML/CSS, Javascript, and JQuery to build the studentaffairs.oregonstate.edu site from scratch using the Drupal 7 platform
  • Offer web support to various other offices across the campus when necessary
  • Act as a student representative when important decisions are made regarding OSU web and mobile services
